Hi Mandy -- If you were in Edinburgh your rest was mind resting but not body resting climbing those stairs.
We climbed some to the 'quick' way up to town and the bus while we were there.
My steps today are not to be climbed by some, Happy Meandeerings!

This is a most beautiful staircase, one in which I would take many rests so that I could linger within its beauty!

Really nice little 'ku...and I would love to trail my hand along that stone wall.

I can imagine being a child and running up and down those stairs countless times. I can almost hear the dinner bell, beckoning us home! I'm surprised to see it empty.

The stones in the stairway look so old that they must each tell a story every time they are touched. Nice haiku reminding us to stop every once in a while.

Now that is a pretty set of steps, and one that I would love to walk. Taking time to rest and think, that is the way to go, for sure. Nice poem.

somehow these steps cry out to be noticed..that in someway one would find a brief rest along the way.. and to think at one time..a long long time ago climbed stairs for training and never considered my surroundings...my only thought i think i can, i think i can

Lovely words. The splash of blue and green in the picture brings the photo to life.

lovely, peaceful verses and photo. :) nice how some green has managed to grow in the nooks, cracks and crevices of grey.
