here allowing "puffed up" to be the dominant image there is now a slight break [called a ceasura] at the end of the second line and then the thought of "another day" is implied rather than stated -- haiku are generally "of the moment" so show rather than tell.
Mandy, I've accomadated a few of this lady's cousins in my yard this season. One of their children approached me with curiosity but no fear yesterday. I've noticed the same behavior from my resident Jays. Odd...I've no explanation, only the joy of those moments. rel

Beautiful bird. I enjoyed reading the haiku in your blog and photos as well. But after reading the comment of you explaining what haiku actually is, I still can't really know how exactly should we write a haiku, though. :p
He does feel as if he's a wild bird, but he's choosing to sit on the man's fence post than in the tree. Great photo. And I love your poem in the comments.
